Effects

I have to choose two effects that I would like to learn and potentially use in my music video. The first effect I have chosen is from the video 'Dare' by Gorillaz, I want to learn how to layer animation over footage. The second effect I would like to learn stop frame animation, an example of this is from 'The Journey Continues' by Mark Brown.

The second music video I have chosen is ' Crazy ' by JoJo and K-Ci. This track is from the film 'Save the Last Dance'.

Purpose of a Music Video

Music videos sell the band/individual artist to its audience through their image.
Music videos can show the viewer several things such as the band or artist's style as well as the type of people that listen to them.
Some artist go on to sell other things through the use of a video, such as their own clothing ranges or products.
There are three main points, star image, star vehicle and star power that all play a part. Star image refers to how the star is perceived where as star vehicle refers to the actual performance or image.
Star power can refer to one of several things as there are three types of power, economic power where the artist/band just sets out to earn money. artist power where they use creativity to control their image or ideological power where they sell a system of believes to there audience.
